Job summary

Specialty Metals Corporations is seeking a Laser Operator for the swing shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm) to run our Trumpf 4050 laser and Amada FOM230 15NT. You will ensure orders are processed safely and efficiently, conforming to customer specifications and quality standards.

The role involves setting up, identifying materials, reading drawings, and completing nests and work orders while finishing, packing, and staging products for shipment.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience running CO2 Lasers.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.
• Experience with crane accessories such as magnets, plate clamps and vacuum lifters.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Laser to cut parts per the work order, supporting documents, and all applicable procedures.
• Inspect the laser and equipment for safety and mechanical condition prior to use; address discrepancies.
• Identify customer requirements, read drawings/blueprints, and ensure outputs meet specifications.
• Finish, package and stage final products for shipment.
• Complete nest and work order documentation; manage discrepancies per quality processes.
