Job summary

Safety Rail Co. is seeking a Laser Operator on the 2nd shift to operate Amada laser systems for sheet metal fabrication and to train team members.

The role requires handling and loading materials safely, using nesting software, and performing routine laser maintenance such as centering and lens cleaning. Overtime may be required to meet production needs and ensure on-time job completion.

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser systems in sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to load materials safely and handle heavy objects.
• Proficiency with nesting software and setting up a laser.
• Willingness to train coworkers and assist in the work center.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser on second shift (2pm–12:30am, M–Th).
• Set up and run one laser proficiently; perform centering, lens cleaning, and focus tests.
• Nest and coordinate work with both table and tube lasers; train others.
• Maintain safety and attendance per policy; participate in overtime as required.
• Utilize clocking and inventory systems to track job completion and material flow.
