The job of SWING CUSTODIAN is done for the purpose of providing overall building cleanliness, sanitation, security, safety and maintenance of the assigned buildings, grounds, and equipment during typical swing shift hours.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include none specified.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fraction, percents, and/or ratios; read and follow instructions; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, include non-specified.
ABILITY is required to be flexible; work both independently and with others; specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include ability to lift/carry/push fifty (50) pounds.
Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting,carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking,45% standing. This job is usually performed in a sometimes wet, generally clean, and healthy environment but may be exposed to seasonal weather variations. Exposure to odor, noise, vibration, dust, chemicals, and other elements, dependent upon immediate task(s).
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Job related experience is desired
Expertise to perform multiple non-technical tasks required
K-12 Education setting preferred
Public setting/relations experience preferred
Certificates and Licenses:
First Aid and CPR may be required
Valid Washington State Driver’s License required
Evidence of automotive insurance required

Washington State Patrol and FBI Fingerprint Background Clearance
Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurance. (Must be able to fulfill all traveling requirements of this position, including possessing and maintaining a valid license and automobile insurance, when using a personal vehicle for District business).
Continuing Education/Training:
Maintain First aid and CPR may be required
Complete District directed safety awareness training (e.g., asbestos safety, blood-borne pathogens, safe lifting practices, etc.).
