Job summary

Christensen Farms in Minnesota is seeking an Animal Care Technician to support the Farrowing and Breeding departments. This hands-on role focuses on daily care, health, comfort, and welfare of the swine herd, with emphasis on biosecurity and safety.

You will perform feeding, heat checks, piglet processing, farrowing support, monitoring health, sanitation, and record-keeping. The position starts at $20 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and a sign-on bonus for eligible new hires.

Responsibilities

• Provide feed and water to animals daily
• Heat check/breed sows and perform gilt heat induction
• Castrate, tail dock, and administer iron/antibiotics to piglets
• Assist with farrowing and ensure piglet warmth
• Monitor sows and litters, identify health issues, administer treatments
• Maintain sanitation, biosecurity and safety records
