Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Columbus is seeking a Swim Team Coach to lead and motivate young swimmers while upholding the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. You will plan and deliver swimming instruction, supervise practices and meets, and maintain records for program participants.

You will build positive relationships with students and parents, coordinate with the Head Coach and Branch Manager, and help ensure a safe, engaging learning environment under YMCA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard, CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required.
• One to two years related experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate swim instructor/swim team coach skills per YMCA standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Swim Team Head Coach and supervise practices.
• Instruct swim team per YMCA guidelines with prepared lesson plans.
• Prepare workout plans and schedule practices and meets.
• Maintain attendance records and organize equipment.
• Engage parents and volunteers and foster relationships.
• Respond to inquiries and fundraise as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed.
