Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking a Swim Teacher to deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages, with training provided and a supportive team environment. Hours are casual, as and when needed, offering opportunities to grow within a large network of centres across England and Wales.

You will be supported with training, DBS checks, and development opportunities, helping customers achieve their goals in a welcoming setting dedicated to inclusion and safety.

Qualifications

• Level 2 swimming teaching qualification required or willingness to gain qualification
• Enhanced DBS check required
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with children and parents

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool area to ensure safety and order

We will provide all the training needed to be a successful Swim Teacher but we also believe that employing people from a mix of employment backgrounds can offer a wider benefit to our team, some of which might be in their first ever job and need more support from their manager and colleagues.

In the role of Swim Teacher, you will deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals.

Hours: Casual hours, as and when needed.

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
• To communicate with the children’s parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
• An ability to deal with children and their parents
• Level 2 swimming teaching qualification or willingness to gain qualification as training can be provided
• Enhanced DBS check
