Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Part-Time Swim Lesson Supervisor to lead and motivate participants in swimming lessons at our Houston facilities. You will supervise swim instructors, ensure safety and adherence to YMCA standards, and coordinate class rosters and parent communications.

You will maintain certifications, monitor student progress, gather feedback, and report to the Aquatics Director while upholding our mission of youth development and healthy living.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and must be at least 5 years older than the oldest participant.
• At least one year of teaching experience required.
• Current YMCA Swim Instructor Certification and CPR/First Aid training prior to first scheduled instructional shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise swim lessons according to YMCA standards.
• Maintain certifications and readiness for emergencies.
• Prepare for sessions: communicate with parents, orient families, plan class layout and rosters.
• Observe lessons and provide feedback to instructors to develop skills and safety.
