Salary Schedule: Miscellaneous Pay

Months Per Year: Through June 30, 2026 (extension contingent on Board approval)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and follow the instruction curriculum
• Present proper demonstrations of skills in the water with students
• Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment
• Effectively communicate student progress to parents
• Teach basic swimming skills to children ages 3 to 12 years old
• Teach both group and private lessons to children and adults

• Anticipate possible hazardous situations and ensure the safety of students
• Teach weekday evenings from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm and weekends 9:00 am - 2:30 pm

Job Requirements

• CPR certified
• Two (2) years minimum of swim teaching experience
• Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff

Preferred

• Lifeguard certified
• Five (5) years of swim teaching experience

Physical/Other Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 50lbs
