Now Hiring: SWIM INSTRUCTORS

Support our aquatics swim lessons program and gain valuable leadership experience while serving the community and ensuring safety at our 4 public aquatic facilities, including 3 pools and a water playscape.

The Position

1. Ensure a safe environment for students in the swim lesson program.
2. Plan, organize, and lead program activities.
3. Develop daily lesson plans.
4. Set up equipment for scheduled activities.
5. Observe all policies, rules, and regulations, and maintain safety.
6. Instruct various levels of classes, from infants to adults.
7. Follow the City's standards in instructing swim lessons.
8. Prioritize safety and students' self-esteem in all lessons.
9. Communicate effectively with patrons, the public, and staff.
10. Maintain skill accomplishment records for each class and student.
11. Discuss students' progress with parents.
12. Maintain all swim lesson equipment.
13. Clean program areas after activities and at the end of the day.
14. Attend scheduled in-service trainings.
15. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with team, supervisor, and the public.
16. Be willing to substitute for others.
17. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Candidates must have experience and training providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be at least 16 years old by May 1, 2025.

During summer months, availability for mornings/mid-days (8:30 am - 1:00 pm) and afternoons/early evenings (3:30 pm - 7:00 pm), Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays, is required.

Must be knowledgeable in swimming Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle, Backstroke, Sidestroke, and Elementary Backstroke.
