Job summary

Life Time Inc. in Naperville, IL is hiring an Aquatics Swim Instructor to teach swimming to adults and children and to uphold a clean, safe pool environment. You will assess swim levels, handle questions from members, and promote Aquatics programs within a fast-paced club setting.

The role requires Lifeguard/CPR certifications, and a high school diploma (or equivalent) or in progress, plus the ability to lift light loads and move about the facility. Benefits apply.

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience

• Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications

• Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $16.50 and pays up to $19.50, based on experience and qualifications.
