Job summary

Life Time in Colorado Springs is seeking an Aquatics Swim Instructor to teach both adults and children, evaluate skill level, and guide members through appropriate swim programs. You ensure a clean, safe pool area and support Lifeguard-certified standards, with a focus on customer service and program promotion.

The role requires working toward a HS diploma, completing Life Time courses on hire, and meeting physical requirements including 25-yard swims and lifting up to 20 lbs.

Qualifications

• Education: Working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• Pass Life Time courses upon hire.
• Able to move around the club for extended periods.
• Able to communicate with guests about Life Time products and services.
• Swim at least 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Lift up to 20 lbs repeatedly; more occasionally.
• Certifications: StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid (or bridge to StarGuard when expiring).
• Canada: Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.
• Preferred: swim lesson instruction or coaching experience.

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons and Aquatics events
• Responds to member questions, comments, and concerns
• Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area
• Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education: Working towards a High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience: Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire

Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time

Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services

Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping

Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications: Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $16.00 and pays up to $19.00, based on experience and qualifications.
