Job summary

Life Time is seeking an Aquatics Swim Instructor to educate adults and children in swimming, evaluate swim levels, and maintain a safe pool environment. You will also promote Life Time's Aquatics programs and services to members.

The role requires working toward a High School Diploma or GED, ability to swim 25 yards, and basic certifications in lifeguarding/CPR. This is an on-site position at Life Time facilities.

Job description

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons and Aquatics events
• Responds to member questions, comments, and concerns
• Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area
• Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education:
  • Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• Years of Experience:
  • Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
  • Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
  • Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
  • Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs
• Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
  • StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first).
  • For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $14.25 and pays up to $17.00, based on experience and qualifications.
