Swim Instructor-In Training (Security)

Join the YMCA aquatics program as a Swim Instructor in Training and make a positive impact in your community! We are looking for enthusiastic, safety-conscious, customer-focused individuals who are passionate about water safety and teaching.

Role Overview: The Swim Instructor in Training will shadow certified instructors while working towards certification. This role involves teaching swim skills to youth and adults, ensuring safety, and fostering a fun environment in a setting surrounded by over 10,000 lakes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist and shadow certified instructors to learn programming and emergency procedures.
• Communicate policies and safety procedures effectively.
• Support the development of swim skills in diverse groups.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum age of 16.
• Ability to swim in shallow and deep water, including treading water (Stage 4 level).
• Patience and effective communication skills with all ages.
• Complete YMCA Swim Instructor Skills Verification within 90 days of hire.

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-8:00pm, Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm, with flexibility as needed.
