Goldfish Swim School - Danbury, CT is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach water safety and proper swim techniques using our curriculum. This role reports to the Deck Supervisor and is non-exempt.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, and prior swimming instruction experience. Flexible shifts and opportunities for advancement are offered in a fast-growing team.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Must pass background examinations (included with training).

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Enforce safety rules and respond with appropriate first aid when needed.
• Evaluate students' progress and complete required paperwork promptly.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about students' development.
• Serve as an ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
• Use problem-solving skills to address student challenges.
• Inspect pool areas before/after classes and report issues.
• Store and manage pool equipment; place/remove lane lines.
• Report accidents and complete documentation.
• Perform Deck Teacher duties as needed.
• Assist with light cleaning and maintain a tidy work area.
• Attend mandatory workshops and training outside regular hours.
