Job summary

The Downtown YMCA in Richmond, VA is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead swim lessons at our pool. We offer pay ranging from $15 to $17 per hour based on experience and qualifications. We prefer instructors with open availability to cover a variety of shifts and ages.

Applicants should have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications. Certifications such as YMCA Lifeguard, American Red Cross Lifeguard, Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI are preferred but not required.

DUTIES of a Swim Instructor

Applicants should be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills. We are looking for swim instructors who can work a variety of shifts with a variety of ages. Using a variety of tools and teaching techniques, swim instructors will work with small groups of students teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and the YMCA core values.

QUALIFICATIONS of a Swim Instructor

Candidates must have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications. Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.
