The Lincoln YMCA is seeking a daytime Swim Instructor to deliver swim lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines. You will prepare lesson plans, assess progress, and maintain records, while building strong relationships with students and parents.

You must hold CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and YMCA Swim Instructor certification (or equivalent), be at least 14 years old, and able to supervise class aides and report equipment issues.

Qualificações

• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen required.
• Must demonstrate swim instructor skills per YMCA standards.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent required.
• At least 14 years of age.

Responsabilidades

• Instruct swimming lessons following YMCA guidelines with prepared lesson plans.
• Build relationships with students and parents; encourage involvement and volunteers.
• Convey information on aquatics programs and refer to other offerings as needed.
• Maintain records (attendance, progress, etc.).
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; follow safety procedures and report incidents.
• Organize and store class equipment; report any damaged items.
• Train and supervise assigned class aides.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

# Swim Instructor-DaytimeLincoln, RI 02865## OverviewSalary Range$16.00 - $16.50 Hourly## DescriptionThis position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**1. Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.2. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.3. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.4. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).5. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.6. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.7. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.8. Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.9.
