Job summary

Duke University is seeking a dedicated swim coach to teach and mentor students within our university aquatic program. You will design lessons, supervise practice, and promote safety and sportsmanship in a respectful learning environment.

The role emphasizes professional conduct, attendance at meetings, and representing Duke in a positive manner. Prior coaching or teaching swim experience is preferred; benefits include comprehensive programs and opportunities to contribute to a vibrant campus

  • Prepare class environment, including lesson plans, equipment, and general safety.
  • Demonstrate techniques and instruct swimming students.
  • Maintain order and discipline in classes to ensure a safe environment and promote a learning atmosphere.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Provide a positive example to participants through conduct, dress, and manners.
  • Represent the organization in a positive, professional manner.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
