Job summary

The Westfield Area YMCA is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to join the Aquatics team. You will conduct classes safely, tailor instruction to class levels, and communicate progress to participants and guardians.

Requirements include YMCA Swim Instructor Certification with BLS/First Aid and Emergency Oxygen, plus a focus on safety and positive member relations. Flexible part-time hours offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• YMCA Swim Instructor Certification plus BLS, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain a safe pool and handle responsibilities.
• Ability to create positive relations with members, participants and staff.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our growing Aquatics team! We offer a fun, positive and inclusive work environment.

The primary duties of a Swim Instructor include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting all classes in a safe manner taking into consideration the level of class that is being taught and the participants' abilities
• Ensuring proper feedback and evaluations are being recorded and communicated to participant and parent/guardian

Hours

Various part-time shifts available all days of the week. Flexible schedules available.

Pay Range

• Minor: $16.00-$17.00, based on certifications and experience
• Adult: $16.25-$22.00, based on certifications and experience
