Job Description

The Campus Recreation swim instructor position teaches water safety and swimming skills to all ages. Responsibilities include providing quality instruction for group and private lessons, following American Red Cross Learn to Swim program standards, maintaining certifications, and participating in mandatory training and staff meetings.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Provide quality instruction for swim lessons.
2. Follow teaching methods and course requirements outlined by the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program.
3. Keep records of students and classes, and report certifications to the Coordinator of Aquatics.

Qualifications

1. At least 1 year of teaching swim lessons or team teaching experience with an experienced instructor for 2-4 sessions.
2. Active lifeguard certification is required.

Pre-employment criminal background check is required. Pay rate is $13.50/hour without WSI certification and $17.00/hour with WSI certification.
