Job summary

SafeSplash in Newington is seeking a motivated Swim Instructor to teach swimming skills using our SafeSplash curriculum in a fun, positive manner. You’ll provide continual, encouraging feedback to students and manage class time to reinforce skills while prioritizing safety.

Experience in swim instruction is preferred, and we offer training. WSI certification and CPR/First Aid certifications are valued; we assist with certification within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Previous swim instruction is preferred; training provided.
• WSI certification preferred.
• Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid preferred (certification assistance within 60 days).
• Experience teaching swimmers aged 6 months to 10 years and with Special Needs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming skills per SafeSplash curriculum in a fun, positive manner.
• Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students.
• Structure class time to include repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills; ensure swimmer safety.

What will you do as a Swim Instructor?

• The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with SafeSplash curriculum in a fun, positive manner
• Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts
• Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skillsEnsure swimmer safety

What are we looking for in a Swim Instructor?

• Previous swim instruction is preferred but we are happy to train you
• WSI certification preferred
• Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for adult, swimmer and infant preferred but we will help you get certified in 60 days of hire
• Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs.
