Responsibilities

• Teach swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety to students of varying abilities/ages.
• Assist more experienced swimmers to enhance their abilities.
• Assess progress and adjust teaching programs accordingly.
• Monitor students to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Enforce ground rules for each lesson and plan progressively.
• Identify and correct incorrect techniques and ensure proper care of equipment.
• Record keeping and communicating progress with parents.
• Complete 2–3 hours of admin duties weekly (athlete registration, fee processing, office coordination).

Job Summary

The UVAC Swim School is the premiere swim school in the Upper Valley. The swim instructor should expect to invest themselves in the learning of our philosophy and our teaching methods of skills progression. Must be a learner as well as a communicator while demonstrating a willingness to keep learning and honing your own teaching skills.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety to students with varying swimming abilities/ages.
• Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
• Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
• Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Implementing ground rules for each swim lesson.
• Planning swimming lessons that take into account students' abilities and progressive development.
• Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting students accordingly.
• Proper care of equipment
• Record keeping
• Communicating progress with parents
• Mandatory 2-3 hours of adminstrative duties each week ensuring efficient and accurate athlete registration, fee processing, and office coordination.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong swimming skills: min. 25 yard Freestyle/25 yard Backstroke
• Ability to adjust to different learning styles and methods.
• Willingness to learn group management strategies.
• Passionate and enthusiastic.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
