Job summary

SwimLabs Swim School in Kentucky is hiring Swim Instructors to impart swimming lessons by following our established curriculum. Instructors are responsible for creating a positive learning environment, ensuring swimmer safety, and providing feedback to students effectively.

Ideal candidates should have CPR-PR/AED and First Aid certifications. The position offers flexible hours ranging from 3 to 20 hours per week, with competitive hourly pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid certifications.
• Experience with children from 6 months to 10 years preferred.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds required.

Swim Instructor Job Description

SwimLabs Swim Instructors are responsible for upholding and teaching in accordance with the SwimLabs Swim School teaching certification and curriculum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach swimming skills in accordance with the SwimLabs® curriculum in a fun, positive manner.
• Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts.
• Structure class time to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills.
• Ensure swimmer safety.
• Maintain proper equipment and time organization to ensure timely class start times.
• Provide the Front Desk Team with class information (ribbons, student changes, etc.) to keep proper class organization.
• Provide customers with monthly, individualized feedback on swimmers during Splash ‘N Tell week.
• Maintain proper SwimLabs® uniform standards as outlined in the employee handbook.

Other Duties

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Position Qualifications and Requirements

• Current American Red Cross CPR‑PR/AED, First Aid for adult, swimmer, and infant required.
• Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and special needs.
• Training in the SwimLabs® curriculum will be provided.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

3–20 hours per week

Compensation

Commensurate with experience and skills

Hourly Pay

$16.00 – $20.00 per hour
