Job summary

Brunswick-Community-College seeks a proactive swim instructor to deliver ARC-based lessons for ages from 6 months to adults of all levels. You will assess progress, document skills, and maintain strict safety protocols while coordinating with lifeguards and staff.

The role requires 6 months' teaching experience, current First Aid/CPR/AED, and the ability to communicate clearly with families. A flexible schedule supports group and private sessions and occasional co-teaching with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Current certification in First Aid, CPR and AED.
• 6 months of experience teaching swim lessons.
• Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate swim lesson techniques.
• Ability to work independently with energy and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and evaluate students in swim lessons.

Job description

Provide swim lessons/private or group for children 6 months of age up to adults of all levels and abilities based on American Red Cross (ARC) Standards and program requirements.

• Provides instruction and evaluates students participating in all swim lessons
• Submits completed report cards, skill sheets and attendance on time
• Ensures the safety of the class participants
• communicates effectively with the lifeguard on duty, acts as a team member assisting with governing the conduct of patrons and facility in emergency procedures.
• works a flexible schedule as needed for group and private lessons.
• work with other instructors in co-teaching certain classes if necessary
• ability to communicate with parents and participants about skills and answer questions regarding swim lessons.
• attends mandatory meetings and trainings as scheduled.

• Current certification in First Aid, CPR and AED
