Job summary

Tulane University Translational Science Institute is seeking a Swim Instructor to provide private and group lessons for adults and children of all levels. The role teaches fundamentals, stroke mechanics, and water safety, while evaluating progress and keeping records with the American Red Cross.

Responsibilities include completing routine paperwork, following department policies, and working weekends and evenings. Must hold ARC CPR/AED and W.S.I. certifications or obtain them within two months.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Experience in aquatics.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to instruct swimming lessons.
• Knowledge of swimming strokes and teaching levels.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work without supervision.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within two months.
• Water Safety Instructor Certification.
