Job summary

Grosse Pointe Public School System is seeking an American Red Cross swim instructor to teach classes from preschool through Level 6 and oversee related instructional programs.

You will develop lesson plans, test students, and issue ARC certificates, while also performing lifeguard duties if working alone. When staff are present, you may supervise lifeguards and swim assistants and work with swimmers in water as needed.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross certifications for lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, AED, and Water Safety Instructor.
• Ability to work effectively with swimmers of various ages and abilities.
• Experience as swim instructor preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach American Red Cross swim classes from preschool through Level 6 and other instructional swim programs.

• If working alone, fulfill lifeguard duties; if working with staff, supervise lifeguards and swim assistants.

• Teach other non-ARC swim classes or supervise non-instructional swim programs as assigned.

Working Condition:

$18 - more dependent on experience. Hours vary
