VIVI SWIM SCHOOL in Baldwin Park, CA is seeking enthusiastic Swimming Instructors to teach children using our proven curriculum and nurturing approach. You’ll help kids become safer, more confident in the water, while growing with a supportive team.

Responsibilities include private, semi-private, and group lessons, progress tracking, parent communication, maintaining a safe pool environment, and attending staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working with children.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Able to follow an established teaching curriculum.
• Able to teach independently after completing training.
• Available for 4–6 hour shifts, 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Teach private, semi-private, and group swimming lessons.
• Work with children from beginners to advanced swimmers.
• Provide safe, patient, positive instruction.
• Follow the VIVI SWIM SCHOOL teaching curriculum and lesson standards.

VIVI SWIM SCHOOL is a professional indoor swim school dedicated to providing safe, high-quality, and caring swim instruction for children and families.

Responsibilities

As a Swimming Instructor at VIVI SWIM SCHOOL, you will:

• Teach private, semi-private, and group swimming lessons based on assigned programs
• Work primarily with children, from beginners through advanced swimmers
• Provide safe, patient, positive, and professional instruction
• Follow the VIVI SWIM SCHOOL teaching curriculum and lesson standards
• Evaluate students' swimming abilities and track their progress
• Maintain accurate student progress records
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, students, supervisors, and other coaches
• Maintain a safe environment both in and around the pool
• Set up and properly return teaching equipment before and after lessons
• Attend required staff meetings and training sessions
• Wear the required VIVI SWIM SCHOOL uniform while working
• Maintain professional behavior and appearance
• Perform other swim-school-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Enjoy working with children
• Patient, caring, energetic, and responsible
• Strong commitment to student safety
• CPR/AED or other relevant safety certification required
• Able to follow an established teaching curriculum
• Able to teach independently after completing training
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Reliable transportation
• Available for 4–6 hour shifts
• Available at least 3 days per week
• Willing to maintain a consistent weekly schedule
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous swim instruction experience is preferred but not required

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply:

• Previous swim instructor or swim coach experience
• Competitive swimming background
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
• ASCA Certification
• Lifeguard certification
• Experience teaching young children
• Experience working with children with special needs
• Bilingual ability, especially English and Chinese

We value coaches who are patient with children, dependable with their schedules, willing to learn, open to feedback, and committed to helping students improve over time.

All VIVI instructors follow the same teaching system and curriculum so that students can continue progressing even when working with different coaches.

We are especially interested in instructors who are looking for a stable, long-term position and want to develop professionally with our swim school.
