City of Lancaster is seeking a Sweeper Operator 2 for the 3rd shift (2:00 AM to 10:00 AM). You will operate a street sweeper, perform preventive maintenance, and support street cleaning operations in Lancaster, AZ.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years operating heavy equipment, 1+ year repairing equipment, and a CDL Class B license (A preferred). Strong English skills and teamwork are essential.

Formación

Summary

Operates and performs preventive maintenance on heavy motor equipment.

Examples of duties

• Follows safe practices in the performance of duties.
• Operates a street sweeper in cleaning streets, alleys and parking lots.
• Operates a tank truck flusher.
• Operates a snow loader when removing heavy snow accumulations.
• Performs routine maintenance on motorized equipment as required.
• May oversee and assist a small group of laborers and operators in loading and unloading trucks, patching streets, and other manual laboring tasks as required.
• Operates a truck mounted snowplow and drives a dump truck.
• Performs manual labor involving loading and unloading trucks, digging of ditches, felling and trimming of trees, cutting brush, and similar tasks.
• Operates a rubber tire loader in general maintenance work during snow removal operations.
• Drives tractors for cutting grass.
• Uses a jackhammer and other power driven equipment.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience

• Graduation from High School or completion of a GED is required.
• A minimum of two (2) years documented on-the-job experience in operating heavy motor equipment on a regular basis is required.
• A minimum of one (1) year documented experience in making mechanical repairs and adjustments and servicing heavy motor equipment is required.

Licenses and Certificates

• Must possess a valid CDL Class B; Class A possession is preferred.
