Job summary

The Kasper Group in New York invites an Assistant Sweater Designer to support day-to-day sample coordination for private label accounts and to contribute to sketching and tech pack creation.

You will sketch in Illustrator, conduct seasonal trend research, coordinate with fabric vendors and factories, develop trims, create tech packs and presentation boards, and assist the team through development to market.

Portfolio must be attached; experience with knitwear and CAD is essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Ability to draw patterns and color CAD are a MUST.
• Knowledge of knitwear.
• Associate degree in Fashion or BA in related Science.
• Must know Illustrator and Photoshop and PLM.
• Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Must be organized with strong verbal and written communication.
• Portfolio must be attached to your resume.

Responsibilities

• Sketch concepts and color stories for sweaters.
• Coordinate seasonal development with vendors and factories.
• Prepare tech packs and CAD boards for production.
• Present samples to buyers during market weeks.
