Job summary

Moody's Ratings Risk Management is hiring a Senior Vice President – 2nd Line Controls Assurance to lead the second line controls assurance program and governance, reporting to MR's Chief Risk Officer.

The role drives strategy for assurance coverage, coordinates with first line testing, IA, and other lines, and sets priorities for data analytics and AI governance to enhance risk oversight.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in risk management and related control functions
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and offshore operating models
• Strong understanding of the Three Lines model and responsible independence
• Ability to identify systemic weaknesses and communicate strategic priorities to executives
• Experience implementing AI solutions with governance and risk considerations

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction and target operating model for the second line Controls Assurance Program, including its mandate, governance, methodology, risk-based coverage strategy, quality expectations, and continuous improvement priorities
• Own and approve the annual and multi-year assurance strategy and plan, ensuring coverage reflects areas of greatest risk and regulatory priorities
• Provide strategic oversight and challenge to the Controls Assurance Team leader for execution of the Assurance Plan
• Review quality and consistency of assurance delivery and conclusions, focusing on significant judgments and remediation
• Lead MR's participation in the aligned assurance model coordinating strategy and reliance with first line and other lines while preserving independence
• Provide independent oversight of the control environment including design weaknesses and remediation
• Synthesize assurance results into enterprise-level themes and translate into strategic priorities for senior management
• Set the strategic agenda for use of data analytics, automation, and AI to improve assurance quality and efficiency
