Job summary

Starr is seeking a Senior Vice President, Head of Professional Liability, to lead the division (including Cyber, E&O, LPL, APL and A&E) from our New York office, driving strategy, profitability and growth.

You will build broker relationships, oversee underwriting, set targets, and mentor teams while collaborating with senior management to align with Starr's goals. This role requires deep Financial Lines knowledge and leadership excellence in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of experience within financial lines insurance.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams.
• Strong broker/market relationships and profitability track record.
• Deep knowledge of Financial Lines products, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the strategy for Professional Liability offerings.
• Oversee the production and underwriting of Professional Liability business.
• Build and maintain broker, client, and partner relationships to grow distribution.
• Provide leadership to staff, fostering collaboration, high performance and development.
• Collaborate on business planning, financial forecasts, risk assessment, and compliance.
• Represent Starr at industry conferences and events to communicate the firm’s strengths.
• Drive operational efficiencies and best practices to maximize profitability.
