Job summary

Starr is seeking a Senior Vice President of Professional Liability to lead strategic direction, oversee underwriting and growth across Cyber, E&O, LPL, APL and A&E segments. You will manage key broker relationships, drive profitability, and collaborate with senior management to align with Starr’s growth goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field; CPCU/RPLU preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in financial lines insurance with underwriting and business development.
• Demonstrated leadership, including managing teams and developing talent.
• Deep knowledge of Financial Lines products, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead strategy for Professional Liability offerings, aligned with market trends and company objectives.
• Oversee production and underwriting of Professional Liability business, setting targets for growth and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and external partners to expand distribution.
• Provide leadership and direction to Professional Liability staff, fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Collaborate with senior management on business planning, financial forecasts, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor market developments and regulatory changes, adapting strategies accordingly.
• Represent the company at industry events, communicating Starr’s vision and strengths.
• Drive operational efficiencies and best practices within the department to maximize client satisfaction.
