NU Advisory Partners has been retained to lead the search for an SVP, Information Technology for a private equity-backed, multi-site services company that is scaling quickly through an active acquisition strategy. Technology has become a strategic lever for growth and margin expansion, and this is the company's first senior technology hire: a builder who will define, architect, and execute a modern technology function from the ground up, with real autonomy to shape it from scratch.

Key Responsibilities
- Pick the small set of technology bets that would actually move the needle on revenue and margin, and see them through to completion
- Make deliberate build-versus-buy calls on the systems that matter most, rather than defaulting to either extreme
- Set direction for the CRM platform, and assess whether the company's scheduling, service management, and billing-to-cash tools are keeping pace with a workforce spread across many sites
- Define what the company's approach to AI should be and drive it into production, building on the data and analytics foundation already in place to inform day-to-day operational decisions
- Consolidate and modernize the underlying cloud and infrastructure environment as the technology stack evolves
- Retire the legacy ERP system and shape what replaces it, designing an architecture built for a company that keeps growing through acquisition
- Play an active role in deal diligence and the post-close work of folding new companies' systems, data, and field tools into the existing environment
- Make sure the fundamentals of IT just work as the organization adds people and locations, whether through organic growth or acquisition, building an internal operations team strong enough to own day-to-day support so this role can stay focused on strategy
- Put a regular rhythm in place for reviewing the roadmap, tracking service levels and support metrics, and keeping spend visible, so leadership is never surprised by where things stand
- Mix staffing models deliberately, drawing on internal talent, project consultants, and managed-service partners depending on what a given need actually calls for
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be in Southern California.
- Ran technology as the top function at a similarly sized organization, or owned a major program inside a larger company and is ready to run the whole function
- Comes from a distributed, multi-site workforce environment (field operations, plants, on-site service) rather than purely corporate IT
- Led a lean team leveraging outside partners, not a large internal department
- Comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a fast-growing, private equity-backed business
- Translates technology into plain business terms for non-technical leaders and the board
- Strong track record turning complex initiatives into plans that actually ship value
- Skilled at driving real adoption of new systems, not just deployment
- High personal urgency — moves in days and weeks, comfortable from board-level strategy to hands-on execution
- Strong talent instincts, with good judgment on building in-house versus outsourcing
- Deployed technology that changed how a distributed, operationally intensive business ran
- Deal diligence, execution, or integration experience is a plus, as is ownership of a core platform like CRM, ERP, scheduling, or field service tools
