Job summary

Authority Brands Inc. is seeking a Senior Vice President, Controller & Treasurer to lead accounting, financial reporting, tax and treasury across its multi-brand platform in the Atlanta area. This role is the primary owner of the external audit and ensures robust internal controls.

The successful candidate will oversee consolidation, technical accounting, and capital markets activity while partnering with executives on growth, acquisitions, and platform transformation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA is required; MBA is a plus.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience including public accounting and senior controllership leadership.
• Experience leading annual audits and maintaining strong internal control environments; oversight of treasury, debt structures, and capital markets activity.

Responsibilities

• Own corporate accounting and financial reporting across brands and entities with GAAP statements.
• Oversee the consolidated close process with the Assistant Controller.
• Lead audit strategy and resolution of significant findings with the external auditors.
• Direct treasury strategy, liquidity management, banking relationships, and debt/capital structure.
• Oversee tax function through leadership and ensure tax planning for acquisitions and structuring decisions.

The SVP, Controller & Treasurer reports to the CFO and is the senior finance executive responsible for accounting, financial reporting, tax, and treasury across Authority Brands' multi-brand platform. The SVP is the primary owner of the annual external audit and is accountable for ensuring internal controls are followed across accounting and treasury operations. This role partners with executive leadership to support the company's growth, acquisition, and platform transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Own corporate accounting and financial reporting across all brands and entities, ensuring timely, accurate GAAP financial statements
• Oversee the consolidated close process in partnership with the Assistant Controller
• Own technical accounting matters, including evaluation of new pronouncements and documentation of accounting positions
• Lead purchase accounting and accounting integration for acquisitions

Annual Audit & Internal Controls

• Serve as the primary responsible party for the annual external audit, including the audit firm relationship, audit strategy, and resolution of significant findings
• Ensure internal controls over accounting, AP, AR, and treasury are designed effectively and consistently followed
• Partner with Financial Compliance on the Delegation of Authority policy, financial controls framework, and remediation of internal audit findings
• Present audit results and control matters to the CFO, board, and sponsors as needed

Treasury & Capital Structure

• Direct treasury strategy, liquidity management, banking relationships, and the debt and capital structure
• Oversee whole business securitization compliance and reporting in partnership with the Senior Manager, Treasury
• Partner with the CFO on capital markets activity, refinancings, and lender and investor reporting

Tax

• Oversee the tax function through the Director of Tax, including compliance, planning, and tax implications of acquisitions and structuring decisions
• Leadership & Infrastructure
• Lead, mentor, and develop the controllership, tax, AR, AP, and treasury teams
• Build and scale accounting and treasury infrastructure, systems, and processes to support a growing multi-brand platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required; MBA a plus
• 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including public accounting and senior controllership leadership
• Demonstrated experience leading annual audits and maintaining strong internal control environments
• Experience overseeing treasury, debt structures, and capital markets activity; whole business securitization experience strongly preferred
• Experience with acquisition accounting and integration in an acquisitive environment
• Experience in a PE-backed, multi-brand, or franchise environment strongly preferred
• Proven ability to lead and scale large, multi-function finance teams
