Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
• Twenty years of commercial lines insurance experience with P&L responsibility.
• Established agency relationships in New England and Upstate New York.
• Strong data analysis, strategic planning and market development skills.
• Travel about 25% within New England and New York; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Chief Field Operating Officer contributes to the overall strategic direction of the operating unit and is directly responsible for all aspects of Acadia’s field and profit center underwriting and marketing operations.

• Consistently achieve operating unit goals for production, profitability, and service.
• Drive effective sales, distribution, marketing, and agency engagement strategies that optimize opportunities across Acadia’s territory and business segments, including Middle Market, Small Business, and Inland Marine.
• Optimize field underwriting operations to consistently achieve expense ratio, loss ratio goals and production goals.
• Employ effective talent management practices to recruit, retain, and develop underwriting and marketing professionals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Marketing, or a related field required. Advanced degree (MBA or related graduate degree) and/or professional insurance designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CLU preferred.

• Twenty years of commercial lines insurance experience, including significant underwriting and marketing experience with P&L responsibility.
• Established agency relationships in New England and Upstate New York.
• A successful track record of building teams and working in a highly collaborative culture.
• Strong aptitude for analyzing and translating data.
• Superior strategic and execution skills, along with strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Successful experience in strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, and commercial lines market research and planning.
• Ability to consistently demonstrate WRBC Leadership Core Competencies and Innovation Behaviors.
• Approximately 25% travel required within New England and New York.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Position will be based out of our Westbrook, ME office.
