Job summary

Slate is seeking a hands-on Plant Vehicle Engineer for SUV General Assembly to enable launch readiness, production quality, and continuous improvement for Open Air, Fastback, and Squareback configurations. The role connects the plant with Design & Release Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers, and Service to protect product intent and resolve production issues.

You will help ensure build quality, process stability, and adherence to safety and requirements while supporting plant

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vehicle development and launches across product lifecycle.
• Knowledge of SUV configurations, structure, restraints, interiors, exteriors.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Design & Release, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service.
• Willingness to relocate to Warsaw, Indiana and travel domestically up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Support SUV launch and ongoing production in General Assembly for Open Air, Fastback, Squareback.
• Serve as plant vehicle engineering contact for production issues and vehicle integration.
• Protect design intent, safety requirements, and quality standards on the line.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve SUV installation and fit/function issues.
• Lead or support root cause analysis, containment, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design for manufacturing and change planning.
• Review production docs, instruction sheets, and quality alerts; drive improvement.
