Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando is seeking a Weapons Sustainment Engineer to oversee depot level repair, modification, and refurbishment of JASSM and LRASM systems. You will coordinate with customers, supervise upgrades, and provide data-driven recommendations for spares and sustainment planning.

The role requires analyzing the sustainment lifecycle from concept through disposal, plus experience with cost/risk and supportability studies.

Qualifications

Standard Job Description

Responsible for sustainment program support to include integration, comprehensive logistics, sustainment plan creation and support requirements for the lifecycle of the product. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. May serve as the point of contact for logistics with the customer and provide advice or training on system design and specifications. Functions as the internal design interface between support system, concepts and specifications. Performs analysis of the sustainment system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Other analysis may include interface studies, timeline and requirements allocation, effectiveness, verification, cost/risk, and supportability. You will be the Weapons Sustainment Engineer for the Advanced Weapons Sustainment Team. Our team keeps the Joint Air-to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) and Long Range Anti Surface Missile (LRASM) fleets mission ready by integrating weapons, managing logistics, and driving inventory and Government Furnished Property (GFP) processes.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Weapons Sustainment Engineer you will be responsible for depot level repair, modification, and refurbishment of JASSM and LRASM systems. You’ll serve as the logistics liaison for customers, coordinate material repairs and upgrades, and provide data driven recommendations on spares procurement and sustainment planning.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Coordinate and monitor repairs, retrofits, and upgrades at organic and sub vendor facilities.
  • Serve as the primary logistics point of contact, advising customers on sustainment status and repair progress.
  • Perform end to end analysis of the sustainment lifecycle: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Conduct interface, timeline, cost/risk, and supportability studies; produce verification and effectiveness reports.
  • Manage U.S. Government spares inventories and generate procurement recommendations.
  • Author and update Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) deliverables, Weapon System Sustainment plans, and schedule documentation.
  • Facilitate fault isolation, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of mechanical, electrical, and structural subsystems.
  • Document repair workflows and results in maintenance data collection systems following program procedures.
  • Provide technical feedback on electro mechanical components to improve reliability and fleet availability.
  • Perform limited supply duties, including loading/unloading assets from shipping containers.
  • Work safely with hazardous materials, using appropriate PPE and complying with FOD/ESD, QA, and security requirements.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Capable of obtaining a security clearance at the Secret level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test/repair procedures
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government Property
  • Ability to interpret industry standards and military specifications
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related degree.
  • Experience with planning/organizing maintenance activities of military aircraft or munitions hardware
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies, cable-and-harness, and circuit card assemblies (CCA)
  • Knowledge/Experience in system trouble-shooting and fault isolation methods
  • Experience writing military technical orders and conducting validation/verificationsExperience with Contractor Logistics Support contracts
  • Experience with Obsolescence monitoring
  • Knowledge and experience in material movement practices
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
