Job summary

Bauer Group is seeking a Sustaining Mechanical Engineer in Conroe, TX to own the technical health and lifecycle performance of released products. You will bridge field feedback with product evolution, combining hands‑on mechanical design with hydraulic/electrical control system knowledge for GEFCO drilling equipment.

The role reports to the Director of Engineering and Product Management and requires strong GD&T, CAD/FEA, and cross‑functional leadership to sustain and improve product families

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in mechanical design and/or sustaining engineering for heavy equipment or capital machinery.
• Experience with drilling equipment and field exposure strongly preferred.
• Strong math/analytical background, GD&T, and welded joint design familiarity.
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD; experience with CAD/FEA tools and PDM/PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering support for released products across full lifecycle, ensuring reliability and safety from release to end of life.
• Triage and resolve field, customer, and manufacturing issues; determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Serve as rapid-response technical resource for Field Service, customers, dealers, and production.
• Design and redesign structural/mechanical assemblies for strength, durability, and serviceability.
• Create and revise 3D models and drawings per standards; define testing and document results.
