Job summary

IPG Photonics Corporation in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide sustaining engineering leadership for the LightWELD product family. This role focuses on supporting LightWELD products throughout production and service lifecycles.

The ideal candidate will lead root-cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and ensure electrical designs meet reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, including sustaining engineering or released-product support.
• Experience supporting complex industrial/equipment electronics in production.
• Strong knowledge of analog/digital design, power electronics, controls, sensors, and interfaces.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems with oscilloscope, meters, analyzers.
• Experience reading and editing schematics, BOMs, PCB docs, test procedures.
• Proven root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Experience with component qualification and obsolescence management.
• Familiarity with design verification, reliability testing, and production tests.
• Experience with engineering change-control and product lifecycle processes.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustaining engineering for LightWELD products and production/test equipment.

• Design, analyze, modify, and validate analog/digital/electronic circuits.
