Job summary

Current Lighting is seeking a Sustaining Engineering Manager in Greenville to lead a team of sustaining engineers and project resources across existing product lines. You will drive engineering excellence through maintenance, EC process, warranty support, and continuous improvement while partnering with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years in product development, sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.
• 2+ years in leadership or management. Preferred.
• Experience supporting global engineering teams.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management experience. Preferred.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
• Experience with UL 1598 or equivalent experience. Preferred.
• Direct experience with lighting or other electro-mechanical products is highly preferred.
• Optical experience with lighting is preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of DC circuits (Ohm's law).

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sustaining engineers, engineering coordinators, and project resources.
• Establish priorities, allocate resources, and monitor project execution.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Manage engineering support for existing product portfolios.
• Lead resolution of product quality, reliability, warranty, and field performance issues.
• Support manufacturing facilities with technical expertise and problem-solving.
• Coordinate corrective actions and design improvements as required.
• Oversee the Engineering Change (EC) process for sustaining and product development activities.
• Ensure changes are properly evaluated, documented, communicated, and implemented.
• Drive timely closure of engineering and product maintenance activities.

The Sustaining Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers and project resources supporting existing product lines throughout their lifecycle. This role drives engineering excellence through product maintenance, engineering change management, warranty support, cost-reduction initiatives, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement efforts.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and external suppliers to ensure products continue to meet customer expectations while achieving cost, quality, and operational objectives.

Education and Work Experience:

Additional Information:

• Less than 15% Travel Required

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $107,500-125,000
