Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a student engineer in Minnesota to support hydraulic lab test stands through CAD-driven design, modeling, and hands-on validation. You will translate lab and manufacturing needs into robust mechanical solutions, creating 3D models and 2D drawings, and assist with controlled change processes to improve safety and reliability.

The role offers exposure to design, development, and implementation of new products, with emphasis on productivity, efficiency, and quality

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar) and 2D drawing fundamentals.
  • Comfort working hands-on around mechanical equipment (wrenches-and-notebooks environment).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of organizational skills and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office) with an ability to learn new systems and tools.

Your main responsibilities:

Who we are looking for:

  • Exposure to hydraulics (pressure, flow, fittings, valves).
  • Experience with test equipment (pressure transducers, load cells, DAQ basics) or basic instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with tolerance/fit concepts, GD&T basics, and drawing best practices.
  • Comfortable reading hydraulic schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
