Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to design, implement, and review manufacturing processes with a strong emphasis on CNC programming for lathes and mills. You will optimize machining processes and support the manufacture of Parker products.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience, CAD/CAM capabilities (Esprit), GD&T proficiency, and a systematic, analytical approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field with 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience developing, modifying, and troubleshooting CNC programs.
  • Experience with machining processes, including tool selection, work holding, speeds/feeds, and process optimization.
  • Ability to apply engineering concepts to a given solution line.
  • Systematic, disciplined, and analytical problem solving.
  • Continuous improvement methods applied to quality and manufacturing (e.g., pull systems, process mapping, JIT).
  • Knowledge of data structures and database programming.
  • Ability to work with CAD/CAM systems (ESPRIT) and other CAM tools.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications (GD&T).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve CNC programs for lathes and mills.
  • Review ECNs/ECOs and update processes, tooling, routings, and BOMs.
  • Plan and design basic manufacturing processes to improve production.
  • Lead process improvement projects focusing on efficiency, yield, safety, and cost.
  • Provide design support guidance to engineering leadership on concepts and specs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable standards.
  • Investigate and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in HPT activities and Parker Lean System initiatives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

We have an exciting opening for a Manufacturing Engineer II.

This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment with a strong emphasis on CNC programming for lathes and mills, machining process optimization, and CAD/CAM utilization. Supports the manufacture and assembly of new and existing Parker products. Identifies improved manufacturing techniques for testing new systems and methods for efficiency, and planning assembly layouts to optimize production, quality, cost, and safety. May be responsible for developing and deploying capital projects.

Your main responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and improve CNC programs for lathes and mills to support production requirements, part quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Review and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs/ECOs) by updating manufacturing processes, CNC programs, tooling, routings, work instructions, BOMs, and related manufacturing documentation to ensure timely and accurate production implementation.
  • Manufacturing Process Flow - Plans and designs basic manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products. Determines equipment and tooling needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications.
  • Process Improvement - Develops and implements process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. May lead small teams in developing and implementing process improvement efforts.
  • Engineering Design Support - Provides guidance to engineering leadership regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensures more complex processes and procedures comply with regulations. Applies frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Remediation - Investigates and suggests corrective action to ensure product quality, and to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in High Performance Team (HPT) activities and support Parker Lean System (PLS) initiatives through continuous improvement and cross functional collaboration.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
We are looking for talent with
  • Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering field with 5+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in a CNC machining environment.
  • Experience developing, modifying, and troubleshooting CNC programs.
  • Experience with machining processes, including cutting tool selection, work holding, speed and feeds, and machine process optimization.
  • Proficient/Working knowledge and ability to apply concepts of engineering for one solution line.
  • Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of moderate to difficult scope and complexity.
  • Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT).
  • Proficient/Working knowledge of data structures and database programming
  • Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems, including ESPRIT, or other computer aided manufacturing systems, in addition to standard business application software and/ or specialized data analysis tools.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems.
  • Ability to read and understand moderate to complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers.
