Job summary

Star Holdings Group is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support legacy products, improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability across our industrial equipment lines. You will work with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to resolve design issues, drive cost reductions, and maintain compliance.

This role involves developing and maintaining documentation such as drawings, BOMs, and ECNs, while evaluating components for obsolescence and leading RCA/CAPA initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of sustaining, product support, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks), ERP systems, and change processes.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering support for legacy products, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Investigate and resolve product issues including design defects and field returns.
• Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain to implement updates and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECNs.
• Evaluate components for obsolescence and implement alternatives.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure ongoing product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure continuous product improvement, resolve design-related issues, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own engineering support for legacy products, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Investigate and resolve product issues including design defects, supplier changes, and field returns.
• Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising performance or quality.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement product updates and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECNs.
• Evaluate components and materials for potential obsolescence and implement suitable alternatives.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure ongoing product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in sustaining, product support, or manufacturing engineering (preferably in industrial equipment or foodservice manufacturing).
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), ERP systems, and engineering change processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with UL, NSF, and other applicable foodservice equipment certifications is a plus.
