Job summary

TDW is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) transitions from development to production, field operations, and deployment. You will serve as the primary engineering owner during launch and coordinate cross-functional readiness with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Product Management.

You will own products through their lifecycle, lead investigations, drive changes, and manage obsolescence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree.
• 7+ years of engineering experience including NPI, product support, PLM, or sustaining engineering.
• Experience with electro-mechanical products and systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) transitions from development to production, field operations, and deployment; serve as the engineering owner during launch.
• Own products through lifecycle; lead investigations and resolve technical issues affecting customers, field operations, and manufacturing.
• Drive engineering changes, product improvements, cost reduction, obsolescence management; maintain docs, specs, drawings, and BOMs.

Key Responsibilities

• New Product Introduction - NPI (40%)
  • Lead the transition of new products from development into production, field operations, and commercial deployment, ensuring a successful transfer to sustaining engineering.
  • Serve as the primary engineering owner during product launch and early commercialization phases.
  • Coordinate cross-functional readiness activities with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Product Management.
  • Ensure product documentation, training materials, support procedures, and engineering deliverables are complete prior to launch.
  • Monitor product performance during initial market introduction and drive issue resolution.
• Product Support & Lifecycle Management (40%)
  • Own assigned products throughout their lifecycle from design release through end-of-life.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of technical issues affecting customers, field operations, and manufacturing.
  • Lead engineering change activities, including evaluation, implementation, verification, and communication of product changes.
  • Implement engineering changes, product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and obsolescence management plans.
  • Maintain product documentation, specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve product reliability, quality, manufacturability, and serviceability.
• Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%)
  • Capture and implement lessons learned from product launches, field performance, and customer feedback.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer from New Product Development to Sustaining Engineering.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Operations to improve product performance.
  • Participate in APQP, design reviews, risk assessments, and change management activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree
• 7+ years of engineering experience, including new product introduction (NPI), product support, product lifecycle management, or sustaining engineering activities.
• Experience supporting electro-mechanical products and systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience leading or supporting new product introduction (NPI), product lifecycle management, and sustaining engineering activities.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter) and engineering change management processes (ECN/ECO).
• Ability to troubleshoot and support electro-mechanical products through collaboration with Electrical and Software Engineering teams.
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, including sensors, actuators, instrumentation, wiring assemblies, and embedded electronics.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including DFM/A, Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action processes.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to lead technical investigations and drive issue resolution.
• Proficiency with engineering analysis tools, including GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and machine design principles.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, assembly, fabrication, and testing methods.
• Ability to effectively collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Operations functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
