Job description

Supports the Product Engineering team through product design, VAVE, and existing product production support. Pivotal in maintaining our legacy products' competitive edge by investigating and implementing continuous improvement ideas in product design and manufacture, including product redesign for automation, reducing costs in the bill of materials or production process.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, providing solutions to customers in a timely manner.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration with teams such as R&D, Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to maintain and improve products.
  • Assess risks related to product changes, develop mitigation strategies as part of change notice management.
  • Manage product compliance (RoHS, UL, CE, etc.) as needed; monitor changes to compliance standards and advise on necessary product changes.
  • Lead technical project reviews with internal CFT covering testing, development of DVP&R, FMEAs, and launch timing.
  • Analyze designs and drive changes: review existing designs, identify areas for improvement, and drive modifications to enhance product performance.
  • Analyze data, draw insights, and make informed decisions to help improve product design, processes and product quality.
  • Embrace a fail‑fast, fail‑forward mentality: encourage experimentation, learning from failures, and iterating quickly to achieve better results.
  • Align words to action: demonstrate consistency by following through on commitments and aligning words with actions.
  • Challenge the status quo and advocate for groundbreaking solutions that redefine industry standards.
  • Lifecycle management: support products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Any other duties assigned.
  • Travel domestic and international (up to 10%).
Requirements
  • 5+ years in design engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Solid Edge preferred).
  • Knowledge of basic electronics.
  • Knowledge of electro‑mechanical products is a plus.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • Detail‑oriented, with excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
