Job summary

The Spring Engineering Co-op Program at Cook Inc. in Spencer, Indiana is a paid 16-week internship with assignments in Post-Market and Sustaining Engineering.

Each Co-op receives a direct mentor and works on meaningful projects in the medical device manufacturing field, with a housing stipend and benefits such as a 401(k) and access to a fitness center. During the rotation, interns contribute to process improvements, validation, production optimization, and data analytics while learning

Qualifications

• College/University student entering Sophomore, Junior or Senior year the following Fall Semester or Graduate student enrolled in Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
• All candidates must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university

Responsibilities

• Engineering Co-Ops may be involved in projects in the following areas: Process Improvement; Test Method Validation; Production; Continuous Improvement; Process Technology; Manufacturing Transfer; Supplier; Sustaining; Engineering Test Lab; Sustaining Materials; Quality Engineering; Quality Data Analytics; Research and Development
• Utilize engineering knowledge to produce project deliverables / documents
• Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements
• Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth
• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
• Must have effective communication skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations
