Job summary

Lovevery, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Design Engineer to advance the packaging development for direct-to-consumer, retained, and retail programs.

You will craft the first physical experiences for customers, creating primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging that prioritizes safety, sustainability, and performance. The role requires expertise in ArtiosCAD, TOPS, SolidWorks, and Adobe Illustrator, plus a bachelor’s degree in industrial design or packaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, packaging engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing packaging for market-bound items that have become purchasable.
• Expert knowledge of packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
• Expert knowledge of sustainable packaging design practices.
• Experience providing direct input to product profitability assessments to help determine fully burdened costs associated with freight and fulfillment.
• Experience designing packaging for products made of our most common materials, including wood, plastic, and cotton.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Proven understanding and ability to design for print production.
• Portfolio showing your ability to think visually and work through digital and physical iterations of an idea.

Responsibilities

• Develop packaging solutions for both e-commerce and retail packaging environments. This will include primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging that adheres to strict safety, regulatory, sustainability, and performance requirements.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of packaging specifications using software platforms such as ArtiosCAD,, TOPS, SolidWorks, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Prepare technical drawings including specification sheets, bills-of-material, pallet patterns, and other documentation necessary for manufacturing.
• Evaluate new and existing packaging solutions to improve user experience, sustainability, performance, quality, and cost.
