Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and implement packaging solutions for diverse products while prioritizing safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability. You will collaborate with production, logistics, and suppliers, test materials, obtain necessary certifications, and help set packaging standards across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering preferred.
  • At least 3 years of packaging design experience in tech/manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, battery tech, testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials and transport regulations.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create packaging solutions ensuring customer and regulatory standards.
  • Test and certify packaging designs with relevant authorities.
  • Establish packaging standards and protocols for all products.
  • Serve as main contact for suppliers and internal teams during development.
  • Address packaging challenges with production facilities and suppliers.
  • Seek cost savings, quality improvements, and better sourcing through research.
  • Stay updated on material innovations and provide Logistics training.
  • Research environmental compliance related to packaging components.
  • Monitor industry trends, emergent technologies, and regulatory changes.
