Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Associate, Sustainable Operations to join our team in Rochester, NY. You’ll support technically complex environmental compliance and sustainability projects while building core consulting and project management skills.

You’ll work alongside experienced consultants on impactful projects for large industrial and global clients - gaining hands‑on experience across compliance, air quality, remediation, and due diligence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or environmental science field.
• 1-2 years of environmental experience or internships/co-ops.
• Strong knowledge of spreadsheets and databases; effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for environmental compliance, air quality, remediation, and due diligence projects.
• Prepare environmental plans, permits and reports (hazardous waste, stormwater, NPDES, EPCRA Tier II).
• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and participate in fieldwork activities.
• Compile, analyze and interpret data for technical reports; assist project managers.
