Job summary

Arup's Austin office is offering a Mechanical Engineering Intern role focused on central plant design and HVAC systems for large-scale projects in data centers and healthcare. You will engage in load estimation, Revit drafting, P&ID development and energy modelling while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

You should be pursuing a related engineering degree and have coursework in energy modelling, sustainability, and 3D design tools. Eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering examination.
• Membership in ASHRAE, USGBC, ASME preferred.
• Coursework in Energy/thermal modeling, Revit or 3D modeling, sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Perform building load estimation.
• Draft building infrastructure in Revit.
• Create mechanical single lines for CHW/HHW.
• Create build automation system sequences and P&IDs.
• Design HVAC services with focus on sustainable design.
• Collaborate with clients and engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
