Arup in New York is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to HVAC design within sustainable built environments. You will work with clients, architects and engineers to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings.

You will perform analyses such as whole-building load, energy and façade thermal modelling, and communicate technical ideas through presentations and reports while developing leadership and teamwork skills in a collaborative setting.

Competenze

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Architectural Engineering, or Building Sciences.
• Coursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics, fluid dynamics or HVAC design.
• Developing interest in the built environment.
• Proven leadership experience and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way.
• Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
• Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.
• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings.
• Perform engineering analyses and modelling, including whole building load calculations and energy analysis, façade thermal analysis, and airflow modelling.
